Fillers (Restylane)
Dr. Quita Lopez, Fresno, California

Restylane is made from hyaluronic acid which is a sugar identical in all species and tissue types. It is a non-Animal, Stabilized, Hyaluronic Acid or NASHA. NASHA is the first stable, bio-degradable, non-animal hyaluronic acid available. The gel binds water and remains for 6-10 months. As a totally non-animal product, here is no risk of transmitting disease of eliciting allergic reaction in patients who are sensitive to common foods such as beef, chicken or eggs. It does not require allergy testing like other fillers. As the gel breaks down, water takes its place. Oxygen is able to diffuse across the molecule, allowing the tissue to stay healthy. Restylane is the lasting choice for our Fresno area clientelle.

Treatment facts

Restylane is used to augment the lips, fill in the nasal labial folds, fill in perioral lines, and I also use it to fill in deep lines between the eyes. Local anesthesia is usually used prior to treatment. After treatment some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the implant site. These resolve spontaneously within one to two days after injection into the skin and within a week after injection into the lips.
