Suture suspension of the neck or neck sling is a procedure that helps corrects the sagging muscles and skin of the neck associated with aging. This procedure can be combined with liposuction of the neck to help restore the youthful contour of the neck without invasive procedures. This minimally invasive procedure is made through small incisions behind the ear. A permanent suture is tunneled under the skin of the neck and tied down in the small incisions behind the ears. Most patients experience swelling for 3 days. The neck is placed in a compression garment for a week at night. Heavy lifting and strenuous exercise is avoided for 7 days.
