Microdermabrasion Suffusion

After a microdermabrasion, we use ultrasound technology to infuse topical solutions to maximize the effects of the procedure and to allow skin care products to penetrate the epidermis better. This is called ultrasound phonophoresis and cosmeceutical ingredients will pass and bring changes in the subepidermal layers of the skin.

We recommend a series of eight weekly microdermabrasions followed by ultrasound phonophoresis of a gel that contains hyaluronic acid, retinal and peptide-containing complex.

• Hyualuronic acid is a humectant. These pull water from the deeper layers of the dermis and epidermis to rehydrate the middle layers of skin. This allows the skin to feel smoother and may allow other agents to better penetrate the skin.
• Retinol is a naturally occurring Vitamin A form found in fruits and vegetables. This can be converted to retinoic acid also known as prescription tretinoin or Retin A. Retinols have been shown to repair DNA damage and increase collagen formation as well as improve the appearance of scars.
• Peptide-containing complexes help the cells respond to different agents.

A recent study of microdermabrasion suffusion has shown that patients form more collagen and see an improvement in the quality of photodamaged skin. These results were demonstrated by biopsies of the skin and were investigated using light microscopy. Combined microdermabrasion and ultrasound-propelled product approach or suffusion is painless and can be used on all skin types.
